Full Vinyasa primary series practice is the foundation of physical/Hatha yoga and of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Method.

Full Vinyasa style is only practiced with the primary series in Ashtanga Method, and it means entering every pose of primary series with a full vinyasa, from samastitihi, instead of going from pose to pose in standing sequence and instead of the usual half-vinyasa transition between seated asanas.

This is the old-school, traditional way yoga was taught to beginners and people recovering from disease or illness, and it is intended to build strength and increase stamina.

This way of practicing has an intensified flushing effect. Although it is more work, coming to samasthiti between each asana de-intensifies the full primary series practice because it gives more time to come up for air by returning to the upright samasthiti position between every asana.  By practicing Full Vinyasa, you will literally be taking more prana into your body than you do during any other Ashtanga practice!

Practice begins at 6:30pm. No late arrivals and no early exits so we can take practice in an unbroken container of our energy. No drinking water during the practice unless you are pregnant. All asana modifications are welcome as long as you know when and how to modify for yourself.

This practice is accessible to everyone who’s practiced yoga before and is recommended for anyone seeking to build up their own inner resources of strength and stamina.
